Spyro the Dragon was a feisty Dragon. He was also adventurous. His first adventure pitted him against one Gnasty Gnorc. Gnasty was greedy, so much so that he was banished to the Dragon Junkyard because he wanted the Dragon Families' Gems. When he got to the Junkyard, he renamed it Gnasty's World. While there, he dabbled in magic, eventually finding two spells he liked. One that would crystallize the Dragon Families, and one that would turn some of their Gems into Gnorc soldiers. So, on a peaceful day, Gnasty put his plans into motion. Unfortunately for him, Spyro the Dragon missed getting crystallized. Spyro then set about rescuing the Dragons and recovering their lost Gems, with the help of his Dragonfly friend Sparx. In the end, Spyro ended up facing Gnasty, and prevailed from that encounter.
